Moving Beyond Paper: Submit Your Open League Red Card Reports via Assignr This Season

Hey Arizona refs! As we kick off the 2026-27 season, ASRA is modernizing how we handle on-field misconduct.


Starting immediately, we are officially ditching old paper-based reports for all Open League matches. Instead, referees will submit ejections using the Assignr app's built-in digital report form. This upgrade speeds up the review process for the league, ensures your match notes don't get lost, and keeps all game data under one secure digital roof.


Step-by-Step: How to Submit Your Report

Filing a red card report on the go takes less than two minutes. Follow these instructions directly inside the Assignr Mobile App:

  1. Open the App: Tap the Reports button located at the bottom of your screen.

  2. Add a Report: Tap the blue Plus Sign (+) in the bottom right corner of the screen.

  3. Select Your Match: The app will pull up a list of games you have recently worked. Find the correct Open League match from the list.

  4. Launch the Form: Click on + New Game Report next to the match.

  5. Fill and Submit: Complete the standard soccer misconduct fields (player name, number, time, and sending-off offense). Be sure to provide a clear, factual, and emotion-free description of the incident in the narrative section, then hit save.

Keep These Best Practices in Mind

  • Don't Forget the Notes: Always jot down the player's name, jersey number, team, and exact minute of the incident on your physical notebook or note card during the game. You will need these accurate metrics to fill out the form later.

  • Take a Picture of the Game Card: Post-game, take a picture of the GotSport game card so you have a record of the game details, like the date, time, venue, field #, and teams involved, just in case.

  • Submit Within 24 Hours: Ensure your report is submitted promptly so league administrators can enforce timely player suspensions.

  • Keep Descriptions Objective: Stick strictly to the facts of what happened and what specific language or actions triggered the card.
