2026-27 Law Changes Webinar
The Arizona Soccer Referee Association will host an exclusive, statewide educational webinar on Sunday, August 23, 2026, at 7:30 PM MST. The virtual event, titled "2027 Law Changes: What You Need To Know," aims to prepare match officials across the state for the newly enacted regulations that took effect last month.
The session will focus entirely on practical rule updates impacting grassroots, youth, and amateur matches in Arizona. To maximize field efficiency, the presentation will bypass elite-level protocols—such as Video Assistant Refereeing (VAR), goal-line technology, and body-worn cameras—and focus strictly on standard match play.
Key Agenda Highlights:
Substituted Player Exit Protocol
Revised Jewelry & Accessory Regulation
New Five-Second Countdown
Delays on Restarts
Injured Player Standard
Procedural Clarifications
"Our goal is to ensure every official is fully equipped to make accurate, game-changing decisions before stepping onto the pitch this season," said Joel Votaw, the Arizona State Referee Administrator. "We need uniform implementation across the state to ensure the game is enforced fairly everywhere."
All active and aspiring Arizona soccer referees are strongly encouraged to attend. The link for the webinar, and all of ASRA's New Referee Orientation and Continuing Education webinars, can be found by going to this link.
