The Arizona State Referee Administration is saddened to learn the passing of Bryce Seaman, we would like to honor the life and legacy of Bryce Seaman, a true pillar of soccer and officiating in Arizona. His passion, integrity, and tireless dedication shaped the standards of sportsmanship and officiating for more than five decades.

Bryce began his soccer career in 1976, when he completed his first U.S. Soccer course—an experience that launched a lifelong commitment to officiating and developing the game. Over the next forty years, he became a leader, mentor, and advocate for officials at every level. In recognition of his contributions, he was inducted into the Arizona Soccer Association Hall of Fame in 1996 and honored with Lifetime Membership in the U.S. Soccer Federation. Bryce was also our trusted Executive Director and board member and provided invaluable counsel and guidance that helped shape our organization’s direction.

Beyond the soccer community, Bryce was a pioneer in high school officiating. In 1980, he organized Arizona’s first group of high school soccer officials and went on to serve as a board member for 18 years. He proudly officiated the state’s first high school soccer championship in 1983. His exceptional service was recognized with the National Federation Interscholastic Distinguished Service Award (1994), the AIA 25-Year Service Award (1986), and a Lifetime Pass to all Arizona high school sporting events. In 2012, he was further honored with Lifetime

Membership in the AFOA and induction into the Arizona Football Officials Association Hall of Fame.

Through his lifetime of service, Bryce touched the lives of thousands of athletes, officials, coaches, and communities. His unwavering commitment to fairness, education, and excellence elevated not only the matches he officiated, but also the entire culture of sport in Arizona.

Our board is grateful for your devotion to our organization and the game we love.
